The cargo ship
Jan van Gent made one of its regular calls in Halifax today to unload nickel sulfides from Cuba. for Nirint Line. The ship has made previous calls in Halifax, but this is the first time I have caught it under way.
The cargo of nickel sulfides from old mine tailings in Cuba is shipping in 'super bags' and loaded directly into gondola rail cars and sent to Fort Saskatchewan, AB for processing. The extracted nickel is then shippped to Europe for processing.
