PSA Crane woes

I wondered on the weekend why PSA Halifax was using only two cranes to work the CMA CGM Libra.

It turns out that one of its cranes is out of service - in the down position - at pier 42.

I understand that the crane, the second one from the seaward end of the piers, has been immobilized since it made contact with one of the shipboard cranes on Tropic Hope on  January 27.  As of today there was a shore based crane set up adjacent to the container crane, possibly for inspection purposes.

Ships are still coming and going from PSA Halifax, but I am sure operations are being hindered to some extent.

ZIM Yokohama sails today. Work continues on the pier extension, which will also house a new crane sometime later this year.
