Saturday

Ensuring self-isolation I did manage to get out to see what was happening in the harbour today without making any contact with other humans.

Just outside the mandatory pilotage zone the crane rig Thialf is getting set to work.

The supplier Atlantic Kestrel alongside merely emphasizes the immense size of this rig.
(See also today's Tugfax for a bit more.)

Sailing from Halifax this evening CCGS Edward Cornwallis made a strange sight minus its cargo boom.

Descriptions of the vessel's life extension refit soon to begin at Shelburne indicate that the derrick will be replaced. It has obviously been removed already. The ship is reporting that it is headed for SAR patrol to the southwest.
