Morning Camilla

The EUKOR carrier Morning Camilla arrived late this morning June 2 and docked at Autoport.

The ship is currently on parent company Wallenius Wilhelmsen's transatlantic loop from Antwerp (May 15-17), Emden (May 17-19), Bremerhaven (May 2-23) and Southampton (May 25-26). Its movements from earlier in the spring take the ship back to Asia and Africa.

Built in 2009 by Imabari Zosen in Marugame, Japan, it is a 60,876 gt, 22,692 dwt ship with a capacity of 6502 CEU. Until late last year the ship was chartered by Eukor from Shoei Kisen KK under the Panama flag. It was then acquired by Eukor Car Carriers Inc and transferred to Korean flag. Its classification society also changed from NKK to the Korean Register of Ships and it then underwent a renewal survey in late February or early March. It would seem that it was drydocked at that time and repainted.

Arriving in a stiff breeze, the tugs Atlantic Willow and Atlantic Oak come alongside in the Middle Ground area. There are white "T" marks on the hull identifying safe pushing points for tugs, adjacent to recessed hull bollards. So far tugs have not scuffed up the hull noticeably.
