Atlanta Express - newly renamed

Atlanta Express made her first visit to Halifax under that name September 23. The familiar Ludwigshafen Express received the new name late last year to free up the name for another ship. She was in port again today, sailing late this afternoon.

Built in 1992 by Samsung Shipbuilding +Heavy Industries Co Ltd in Koje, the ship made its first ever call to Halifax November 17, 2000 and was a regular caller until last year. At 58,833 gross tons, 65,815 deadweight tonnes, she has a capacity of 4639 TEU (including 452 reefers).
