Cabot - all hands on deck

This evening crew members were running news lines ashore from Cabot at pier 9B. The fact that these crew members were speaking French adds to the speculation that she may be re-entering Oceanex service. Previously there were Indian crew members aboard.
The ship still has her steel fire wires overside and appears to be triple moored for and aft, indicating that she may not be moving soon.

  1. Now on the Oceanex website:

Dear valued customers, As most of you know, last November the Oceanex Connaigra was taken out of service in order to repair its main propeller hub system.

Unfortunately, while en-route to Montreal, our vessel experienced a systems malfunction, similar to the one originally encountered last fall. As a precautionary measure, the Oceanex Connaigra will be returned to dry dock for further assessment. However, our vessel will make a final trip from Montreal to St. John’s on April 18.

In the interim, we have activated the following emergency plan:

Effective April 22, the Cabot will be reinstated to its former Montreal Tuesday sailing.
Effective April 25, the Oceanex Avalon will be reinstated to its former Montreal Friday sailing.

This plan will enable us to maintain our regular scheduled service between Montreal and St. John’s. A status update of the Oceanex Connaigra will be communicated to everyone, as soon as further information becomes available.
