Pearl Seas Cruises has removed the 2011 schedule from their website. Until recently it had shown a July 2011 start up of the ship Pearl Mist, sailing from Halifax. That schedule has now been taken down, and in its place is a note that says "Under Revision."

Recent press reports detail some of the issues regarding the dispute between Pearl Seas and Halifax Shipyard, so I won't deal with them here.

However, the bottom line is that Pearl Seas is not accepting delivery of the ship, and it remains laid up in Shelburne, NS. Pearl Seas is apparently suing the yard, so the matter is far from resolution.

Pearl Mist...... no good news.

Pearl Seas Cruises has once again changed its schedule for the Pearl Mist. The beleaguered Halifax-built ship still sits in Shelburne as far as I know, awaiting resolution of problems between owner and builder.

Her 2011 season is now shown starting May 17 at Halifax. This recently published version lops five months off the previous one, which had her sailing in January in the Caribbean.

Pearl Mist delayed.....again

Pearl Seas Cruises has revised its schedule again, cancelling 2010 sailings. The first sailing for the Halifax-built Pearl Mist is now scheduled for January 2011.

Until recently Pearl Seas' web site showed a July 2010 start up. However with the ship laid up in Shelburne in a dispute with the builders, there was fading hope for a 2010 season.

The ship carried out trials in May 2009 (as pictured above), but since then the owners and builders have been locked in a disagreement that is still not resolved. Rumours abound, that I will not repeat, but it is fair to say that Pearl Seas is not accepting delivery of the ship.
